Education

Education is clearly an important thing. It was only just this week when Michelle Obama visited the UK with her hubby and part of the talk she gave at Oxford University was about how with hard work and education you can achieve the things you want to.

When we talk about education we think about schools and qualifications. We think about getting an eduction to further a career, with training courses and night school. But there is another setting where eduction can reap rewards; it is a useful weapon in the fight against addiction.

If you want to change a behaviour you have to understand what you can do to bring about that change and you also need to understand the driving forces that keep you repeating that action. These days Drug Addiction Treatment isn't just about telling people what they have done wrong and giving replacement substances as a Drug Treatment.

I was about the The Freedom Center at http://www.freedomdrugrehab.com/. It has gained the honour of being the most successful drug treatment program in the country. It can boast a success rate of over 70%. It is through the use of education that it can help so many people. Three out of four people can be helped by this program. That is way more than have been helped by the old 12-step schemes that we have all heard about.

The program covers issues like how to confront certain situations, how to retake control in those situations. There is a key emphasis on communication. So, communication and education work together to do what other systems can't. And while education for training or work is good because it can help your career, education to fight an addiction can improve the standard of every area of your life. It is about self improvement and the is no finer goal.
