The Jeremy Kyle Show

Wow! I have just watched another episode of The Jeremy Kyle Show and there was a woman on there, called Lisa, who didn't know who the father of her baby could be. She said it would was on three guys.

And then she walks on and you think, "They must've got through a lot of brown paper bags."

I mean, it must've been 3 paper bags per session. One bag to put on her head, one for the bloke in case hers falls off, and one to put on the dog do it doesn't have to watch.

Three times that and we're using up a lot of paper.

My Eyes Show Me The Truth

I woke up today and watched The Jeremy Kyle Show. I'll tell you what worries me about seeing the chavs on that TV show, it's that after they have been on the show talking about their various peccadillo (only I'm sure they don't know they're called that), the show offers them after care.

The after care is where their trained councillors stay in touch and help them through their chav-related trouble.

The thing that worries me about this is that I went to Vision Express for an eye test the other day because I wear contact lenses and they said it was an after care appointment.

What are they saying about me?!?

The Start of Winter

Is it ever going to get light today? Do I really have to make the effort of starting my day if the world isn't going to join in?

There's something about the start of winter that makes me understand why animals hibernate. It's not to do with surviving winter and avoiding food shortages, it's because they can't be arsed. "Should I get up and hunt for, whatever it is I eat as I'm a bear? Nah, I think I'll just sleep in."

Topamax

Topamax was a drug that seemed to have such hope placed in it. It was an anti-convulsant that found use as a treatment for epileptic seizures and could also help to prevent migraine headaches.

But it was later linked to certain side effects including birth defects like cleft lip or cleft palate.

From such hope to such failure, but that is often the way with the drugs. Sadly for those affected there's not much medically that can be done, but there is something legally. There's the possibility of compensation.

There's an Austin personal injury attorney who are experts in taking these cases. The details are O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath – Personal Injury Lawyers – 808 West Avenue, Austin, TX. 78701 – 512-494-9949

Doctor Who

I have just watched the last episode of the latest series of Doctor Who. Manalive, this stuff is just so random. Don't get me wrong, I very much enjoyed the episode but each plot change and twist is so convoluted it seems like it has been written by a mental.

I remember, when I was growing up, there would be a bad guy and the Doctor, and they would fight and the Doctor would win.

Now we find plot loops and subtleties. It's like doing A level English homework.

Love it.

Crestor

Have you heard of Crestor? It was a prescription drug, also known by the name AstraZeneca. It was produced as a drug to deal with high cholesterol, which if left untreated, cholesterol can lead to cardiovascular disease. So, it was prescribed to make people's hearts better.

Sadly, since then Crestor has been linked to certain side effects, such as damage to the heart, damage to the fibres and potentially heart failure.

Obviously there is no price you can put on health but if you have been affected by this drugs there is a legal option. To look for compensation in a Crestor lawsuit click the link to find out more.

Accident

I went to a coffee shop yesterday during market day. As I went in there was nothing outside the coffee shop. While I was in there someone set up this gazebo right outside the exit. All of about 3 feet away from the door...

Gazebo just outside Nero says "Have you had an accident?... on Twitpic

And do you know what it said on the banner that was on the gazebo? "Have you had an accident?"

I nearly did, because some prat had put a gazebo in my way!

Tut! Some people, eh?

Best Soap

EastEnders has been crowned Best Soap.

Bad news for Imperial Leather. Imperial... ah, never mind!

Enders scooped 5 prizes at the Inside Soap Awards in London last night, including Best Actress for Jessie Wallace.

Jessie Wallace? I preferred her when she was in that double act with Gromit.

Coronation Street won the Outstanding Achievement award for the explosive tram crash and live episode with which the soap celebrated its 50th anniversary.

I think the most outstanding thing about that show was the cat in the old opening credits. That cat had been alive for about 40 years! They've cured ageing!

A Time For Beauty

Have you heard of the Regency Beauty Institute? It's the start of a chain of events that makes the world a better place. Let me go through it.

The institute is the fastest growing beauty school in the US. From just 2 schools it now has over 80 places of learning. So, it teaches people how to treat people and make them look better. Looking better makes people feel better about themselves. When people feel better about themselves they're more optimistic, which leads to greater productivity, and feeling good about yourself also means you tend to treat other people better.

So, some people learn how to do beauty treatments and a few steps later down the path of logic lots of people have slightly nicer lives. And it's those little improvements that make all the difference.

See www.regencybeauty.com to find out more about this Cosmetology school.

This blog post was based on information provided by Blogitive. For more information, please visit Blogitive.com or contact Regency Beauty Institute – 7100 Northland Circle, Suite 312 – Brooklyn Park, MN 55428
A new survey says kids these days don't know the basic tasks we all learned as we were growing up. Only one in five of youngsters said they could tie a reef knot.

I never learned to tie one, to be honest. And I can say this, I have got through life without the need.

Maybe I'm just lucky. In earlier generations if you couldn't tie a good knot you couldn't just use a bit of glue or Blue tack, depending on how long you wanted it to last.

And thanks to No More Nails, I really don't need to be able to use nails either.

Guy In Coffee Shop

As you may well know, I spend a lot of time in coffee shops. I often sit there and drink while people watching, which is a great way to pass the time. But I also like to do work there. I sit with the laptop in front of me, tapping into the free WiFi while I type my thoughts.

But today the tables were turned. I was sat there reading when I guy turned up, got his laptop out, and started working. But that guy was mouthing the words as he typed the emails on his laptop.

He can't type without speaking. Jeez, if he tried to chew & walk at the same time he'd have a stroke.

I'm the paper today it says Ryan Giggs' wife has taken him back, forgiven him for all the affairs BUT she refuses to star her wedding ring.

He gets a wire and she gets less jewellery. Yeah, that'll teach him.

The Old Spell-Check

Oh yes. I recently posted about using the old version of Twitter, which was in fact me writing on a PostIt note. Well, it turns out I got the Beiber wrong. I was following the i before e thing.

It's OK, I have started using the really old version of spell-check...

In that case, this is what we had to do before spellcheck was... on Twitpic

See? Sorted.

The Old Twitter

As a Twitter user I keep getting messages saying the old Twitter is about to end and I will be forced to use the new one. Recently that warning at the top of the Twitter page has changed colour. Ooooh, it must be serious.

But I don't want to change to the new one. I like the old one. I fear change!

And when I say I am using the old Twitter, I mean the really old one...

This is what we had to do before Twitter was invented. on Twitpic

I have to stick that somewhere where lots of people I almost know can see it.

Topamax

The details of what happaned with Topamax and the resulting Topamax lawsuits is quite moving. How a drug designed to help people could actually end up harming people, it a shocking fact of life.

But just because something bad happens doesn't mean you should just have to accept it. There's no way back, no way of changing the outcome, but there is the possibility of compensation. It won't make it right but it may help to control the down-side of the current situation.

That's why at O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath, they have attorneys who have worked on these cases and therefore understand that a child’s injuries are not the fault of the parent. They have built up expertise and experience and can work in these cases with compassion and knowledge. If you want to find out about what they do, you should ask them. Their details are...

More U-Turns

Think about the issue of politicians doing U-turns, I don't really have a problem with it. What bothers me is when politicians don't indicate before turning left at a roundabout.

Or when a politician is driving his policy on a motorway and just hogs the middle lane.

And hey, politician, if you're driving your policy near me, don't tail-gate you idiot, it's dangerous.

Maybe, just maybe, I didn't quite grasp this metaphor.

U-Turns

There has been a log of talk about the Government making a lot of U-turns. They have denied it even when it is plainly clear that they have made such a move.

I think the problem is the phrase, U-turn. It seems to imply a negative feel, like it is a bad thing to do. But have you ever made a U-turn? It's always the right thing to do and saves you a lot of time driving in the wrong direction.

So what we need is a phrase that means U-turn but sounds cooler, sexier, more impressive. So from now on I say politicians should call it a "hand-brake turn".

Although with the way the Government have been going round in circles they should say they've been doing doughnuts in Sainsbury's carpark.

The Greek Plan

We could probably learn a lot from what is happening with the Greek economy. They may be forced to leave the Euro and take up their own currency again. That has a lot of people worried because the new currency (or old one they return to) would likely see an devaluation during the change over. People are worried that the money they have saved will become worth less, so thay have opted to buy gold bullion as a way of preserving their worth.

Currencies can be affected by all sorted of political things, whereas gold is gold. It will have a value, that can go up and down, but does so based on supply and demand, a far fairer system.

The United States Gold Bureau is one place on the web where you can do like the Greeks have been doing and covert some of you investments into gold.

It's A Circus

Yesterday, while watching BBC's Question Time I heard abut a vote in parliament to ban the use of wild animals in circuses. I'd go one step futher and ban circuses. If they don't have animals it'll be mainly clowns, and they're as scary as hell.

But I was broadly in favour of this ban till I started to think about it. They won't let the animals who work in circuses work out the rest of their careers while stopping new ones from joining – natural wastage like they do in the civil service – they'll effectively sack the animals from show biz.

Oh no. If you stop them working in a circus they'll all try and get work on the stand-up ciruit, like sooo many actors do.

Pinky And The Brain

I am very happy as I have just discovered that I can do an OK impression of Brain from Pinky and the Brain. With a bit of work I will be able to do it spot on.

OK, it's not the most useful skill I have developed but then, I have so many that aren't useful. I can burp most letters, click parts of my body that make people want to be sick and can hold a note for about 40-seconds while I breathe out.

All of these skills have taken time, effort and dedication to develop and none of them will get me anywhere. Kind of like Brain's plans for world domination. Seem I'm getting more like him already.

Topamax

Have you been looking into Topamax lawsuits? It's a moving story of a drug, Topamax, that started life as an anti-convulsant medicine that was given to people who suffered epileptic seizures and in some cases given to those who get migraine headaches. But sadly there was a side effect linked to the drink that resulted in birth defects along the lines of cleft lips and palates.

Quite reightly, people realised that it wasn't their fault that these birth defects happened and as such they looked into the lines of legal recourse.

There is a firm of lawyers, O'Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath, who have dealt with many cased related to this and as such have built up a worth of expertise and experience. It means they are well placed to help in these cases.

If you want to find out more about them their details are...

Signs

As I sat down with a nice cup of decaf tea last night, ready to see what was on telly, I realised it was so late the sign language shows were on. Oh my, I find those much better than the normal shows. You want the show and the presenter will say something like, "It's looks like the German government have made a right pig's ear of it," and you think, "Oooh, I wonder what the sign language for pig's ear is?"

But last night the woman who was doing the sign language on BBC1 had a crazy face. I'm not trying to be harsh but she was acting the whole show out with her expressions. they were bigger than her hand gestures. She was so off putting I can't remember a thing about the TV show. I just sat there and watched her.

I think that's the biggest sign of all... that I should get out more.

Education

Education is clearly an important thing. It was only just this week when Michelle Obama visited the UK with her hubby and part of the talk she gave at Oxford University was about how with hard work and education you can achieve the things you want to.

When we talk about education we think about schools and qualifications. We think about getting an eduction to further a career, with training courses and night school. But there is another setting where eduction can reap rewards; it is a useful weapon in the fight against addiction.

If you want to change a behaviour you have to understand what you can do to bring about that change and you also need to understand the driving forces that keep you repeating that action. These days Drug Addiction Treatment isn't just about telling people what they have done wrong and giving replacement substances as a Drug Treatment.

I was about the The Freedom Center at http://www.freedomdrugrehab.com/. It has gained the honour of being the most successful drug treatment program in the country. It can boast a success rate of over 70%. It is through the use of education that it can help so many people. Three out of four people can be helped by this program. That is way more than have been helped by the old 12-step schemes that we have all heard about.

The program covers issues like how to confront certain situations, how to retake control in those situations. There is a key emphasis on communication. So, communication and education work together to do what other systems can't. And while education for training or work is good because it can help your career, education to fight an addiction can improve the standard of every area of your life. It is about self improvement and the is no finer goal.

Topamax

When most drugs are introduced into the world of medicine they help people and that's the end of it. But sometimes some drugs have unforeseen side-effects. Topamax was an anti-convulsant medicine, that was introduced to treat people with epileptic seizures, and because of the way it work it also found use preventing migraine headaches.

But after it helped many it was found to be linked to some birth defects. It is linked to cleft lip or cleft palate.

Anyone affected by this should realise that it is not something they have done wrong. It is the fault of someone else and as such they may be in a position to take legal action and one legal firm that experience of Topamax lawsuit, it's O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath. If you want to get in touch the details are: O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath – Personal Injury Lawyers – 808 West Avenue, Austin, TX. 78701 – 512-494-9949

The Jeremy Kyle Show

I would just like to say...

Dear The South,

I hope you don't think all of us northerners are like the ones on The Jeremy Kyle Show. We're not. Some of us have jobs. Some of us don't have loads of kids that we never seen. Some of is have teeth.

Honest. Thanks.

Yup, I have been watching too much daytime TV of late and it's started to get to me. It has made me realise that if only The Jeremy Kyle Show's "After Care" team did vasectomies the world would be a better place.

Coffee Shops

Today I spent a lot of my time in coffee shops in London. I think it is a great way to pass a day and you can learn a lot.

For example, I learned that Starbucks is better for the free WiFi but Costa has nicer toilets. So, if you want to log on... (you can see where this is going)

It teaches you a lot about yourself when you know that. What's more important to you, working things out with a laptop or working things out... well, you don't want to know how.

Topamax lawsuit

Topamax, the anti-convulsant medicine, was introduced as a treatment for epileptic seizures. Because of the way this chemical works on the brain it also found use prevent migraine headaches.

But after it was found that Topamax had the unfortunate result or side effect. It was linked to cleft lip or cleft palate. These are birth defects that result in anything from a small lip to and open groove.

There is a law firm that has experience in these case. They have dealt with this issue in the past so they know what they re doing in these matters. It's O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath and the contact details are given blow. It's the first place to go if you think you are in need of a Topamax lawsuit.

More Twitter

You know me, I like to spend some time on Twitter. OK, a lot of time. I really need a hobby.

I like to see what's happening in the trends and the other day I spotted the ❒Single ❒Taken trend.

Oh come on, really? That's the easiest round of "Spot The Liam Neeson Film" I have ever played.

Learning

Education is such an important thing. You can tell it is be some of the reports comes from Japan. And families have list their home and had to stay in community buildings, locals have been bringing blankets, supplies, and tellingly books for the children. Even in the face of massive natural disaster people see the education of the young as important.

From learning to read through to college degrees, education is so important, as it changes the direction of the rest of your life. But there is a difference when you get to the higher levels. Some places will give you a better course than others. That's why a site that offers reviews from actual experts in the online education field can be really useful when it comes to selecting the online college or university you want to apply to. So check out Degreecentral.com which is a site with all that information that relates to finding the place to gain your online degrees.

It is kept up to date, so even if you have been there a while back, it is worth checking it again for updates. Getting the best fit between you and the online school is important and it could mean the difference between enjoying it and not, doing well and not, and therefore going on to better things and not.

More Take Me Out

Another lovely moment of watching TV. I sat say down with the high-def to watch Take Me Out, because that's how I like to spend my spare time.

There's the section where the guy has a video about his life plays and if the women don't like what they see they switch their lights off. Or as Paddy puts it, no likey no lighty.

Well, the guy said in his video he was looking for a girl who's kind and two of them turned their light off.

It says it all, really.

Legal Help

When it comes to a motorcycle accident attorney Austin has a very highly recommended one. One that has built up a lot of experience in these matters. They have helped the victims of serve accidents who have sustained an injury that in some way affects their work.

The legal side of getting what is rightfully yours is complicated and it is not something that you should try to handle on your own, or the legal team of the other party could run rings round you.

So, if you want to find out about the legal firm I am talking about it is O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath – Personal Injury Lawyers – 808 West Avenue, Austin, TX. 78701 – 512-494-9949

Take Me Out

Just watching Take Me Out on ITV1. Well, on ITV1 HD actually. I'm seeing it in high-definition, so I can really tell who you should turn off and who you should take out.

I saw an old bald bloke who dresses like a wizard get a date on that show. Really? Him?

Is this a 'Should've Gone To Specsavers' product placement deal ITV have?

He must have some kind of spell that works if he pulled. He looks like he has a spell that always gets the ladies, if by spell I really mean rohypnol.

Babestation Observation

Just before I explain my latest observation there are two things you need to know. I bought a high-def TV last week. That's the first point. And the second one is that I only watch Babestation for the funky music..

(I know. It's the "I only read Penthouse for the articles" of the modern world.)

But I was flicking through the channels and watching Babestation on high-def (even thought the channels aren't actually high-def, the TV is just a whole lot bigger and clearer than the old CRT TV) is shocking. You don't realise but the women on these channels are covered in bruises. It's all that slapping their own bums and jumping up and down on the chairs.

I know why they're willing to do it. They must get danger money.

Metals

You can Buy Gold Krugerrands as an investment with sites like www.usgoldbureau.com

not just gold, they trade in silver and other precious metals, all of which have proved to be a good investment recently.

Take silver: low supply and high demand has helped to push up price. The supply isn't not likely to increase which means silver is set to stay a good investment.

Take gold: during times of recession people tend to turn to gold as an investment instead of things like property and stocks.

Timing is also an important factor when it comes to investment and now may be the perfect time. So check the website above and see what you think about a metal investment.

No Trousers Day in Taiwan

Isn't it just typical. In Taiwan, a group of 20 girls travelled on the subway in their knickers as part of 'No Trousers Day', but a month after the event.

Even when they don't have to get fully dressed women still take ages to get ready.

The annual No Trousers Day took place in January in a number of world cities, including London and New York. Taiwan only just got round to doing it.

Actually, they're the clever ones. Who goes round in just their pants during the coldest month of the year? As a bloke, the cold wouldn't flatter. In fact, I'd only join the No Trouser Day is I'd just been bitten down there by a spider and was suffering swelling.

Clever Sheep

New research says sheep are far more intelligent than previously thought.

Either that or GCSEs have got a lot easier.

In the old days scientists only thought sheep could count up to 3 (Source: Bar Bar Black Sheep, how many bags full) but researchers at the University of Cambridge have discovered that the animals are much brighter.

They found the sheep can adapt to changing situations and map out their surroundings.

They're covered in wool and they can adapt. That makes them sounds like pensioners... apart from the adapting bit.

Maritime Help

If you have been injured in an maritime-related incident and you think you may have a legal case for compensation you could be better off looking to Offshore Injury Lawyers. Have a look at Schechter, McElwee, Shaffer & Harris' website by clicking the link. They have been in business for over 4 decades and that means they have experience of helping a lot of people.

They have worked with seamen, tankermen, longshoremen... all types of crewmen, so they could help you too.

If an injury affects your ability to work, seeking compensation might be the only way you can keep you head above water, financially speaking. It is certainly worth investigating more.

Being British

I think I lived through the perfect example of what it means to be British the other day. I was in a coffee shop (which is often the case), enjoying the coffee. Well, enjoying the free WiFi more but that doesn't paint me in a good light.

As I sat there I heard some women in the far corner scream. I looked over and worked out that they were freaking out because there was a mouse in the coffee shop. One woman ran over to where I was sat and got on the highest stool she could find.

The mouse ran out, things got back to normal and then a homesless drunk came in and started shouting at people. And this is the moment I realised that if there's a mouse people scream, if there's a nutter we all go quiet. Now that's being British.

Cones

What's the attraction between drunk people and traffic cones? A sober man sees a road cone and thinks, "Oh dear, gonna be late." The drunk man thinks, "Now that would look so much better... over her!" It's like the drinking brings out the inner feng shui expert. It's more dangerous than you think. Every year 14 people are killed by vending machines falling on them. Accidents? I doubt it. They were trying to move them into the north-east corner to help their prosperous zone. They did it because they thought they'd come into money. Well, half a ton of coins just landed on them so it nearly worked.

Lawyers

Life will always have something to throw at you just as soon as you got the last situation sorted. There will always by something to deal with. Sometimes it will just be a large To Do list, other times it make be more serious and legal help might be needed.

It is times like these when it useful to know about places like the Law Firm of O'Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath, the Texas truck accident attorney.

They have vast experience dealing with accident injury victims in the state of Texas. If you find yourself in a situation where you need the services of a firm like that you need to pick one that has experience and a good reputation, or the additional stress in your life will be terrible.

Up t'North

I have been spend thing weekend in the north, where I am originally from. I knew what kind of a weekend I was in for when I left my house it was 9 Celsius, when I got up here it was 2. That's typical.

One quirk about the people from my home town is that they say 'duck' a lot. They call each other 'duck'.

"Eh up, duck, how's it going?" That kind of thing.

I can't get used to being called duck by people I don't know. Someone shouted to get my attention earlier... and I took cover.

That Boots Annoys Me

There's a Boots advert on TV that really bothers me. We see two women meet in the street during their equally busy days, but look, they both have stinking colds. They go on to talk about all the things they're doing, going shopping, taking the kids swimming, throwing a dinner party, even though they have really bad cold.

Stop doing all that. You are infectious. You are spreading the germs that old people die from! Still proud now?

A dinner party while you have a cold. Are you mad? I bet she spits in the soup because she secretly wants others to get it too.

Stop teaching people to carry on with a bad cold. 39 people have died in the UK this winter from flu, their families have lost a loved one, but you think you're big and clever for going out and sneezing your way round.

If they're making an ad like that they should also make one where, after the women say they're still doing lots with a bad cold, they go and try on shoes even with athlete's foot.

Or still go on her cruise holiday even though she's got the norovirus.

Knobs!

Golden Ways

If you have ever wanted to buy gold bullion now could be the perfect time. United States Gold Bureau offer a service where you can buy gold as coins or ingots and then have them stored away safely.

That way you have a good investment that historically has done well in the long term and rides out the nasty bits of a recession, unlike many other types of investments.

Buying gold has been the good old was of storing your wealth for centuries. From the ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans to today, it has worked. It is the stability of gold during the times of instability of other economic factors that makes gold such an attractive investment. Have you noticed the adverts for cash-for-gold type services? Companies will buy your old gold from you, melt it down and sell it on the gold market.

It goes to show, old is in demand. So now could be a good time to buy.

Big

I was watching "Big" on Film4 today. It's kinda dodgy that the female lead character fancied male lead. Even if she didn't guess he was 13 she would've thought he was deranged. He slept on bunk-beds with his 13 year old friend.

And when she finds out at the end she'd run off a scrub herself with a wire brush - she got sexy with a kid! Dude, wrong!

It's a gender thing too. Imagine if Jamie Lee Curtis got some strange in Freaky Friday. People would've thought it was sick.

Still, it all reminds me of the time I made a wish on a fairground machine. It came true. You could make a film about me call "Big" but I didn't wish to get older. Nuff said.

Alcohol Treatment

Before Xmas is is common to talk about the fun we were about to have. We think about the party season and how we can go out and enjoy things to excess. Now we are in the New Year it is time to stop the hedonistic way of thinking. It is only fair that we use the New Year to give equal attention to sobriety.

If someone has a dependency to alcohol, sometimes it can me too much for one person to deal with on their own. You hear people say that the first step towards quitting is admitting you have a problem. The second step is just as important. You have to find a way of making that happen, and if you just go home and hope you're own will power will deal with everything you might not succeed.

One wise option is to find the right resources to help you or someone you are trying to help, find the right alcohol treatment centers. Information is what the second step is made of. Finding out about websites with alcohol addiction information just takes a little research.

If you are looking for Alcohol Treatment Centers for either you or someone you are helping to enroll in Alcohol Treatment Programs, have a look at the www.treatment4alcohol.com website.

There you will find details on Alcohol Treatment and information about where to find the programs. A New Year can be a new start and sometimes a new start is all that is needed.

Back to the TV

It's been great TV on this New Year. I sat down to watch Back to the Future again. Only one problem, a real scientist would say, "one point two one," not, "one point twenty one", and it's "gigawatt" not "jigawatt".

And Doc Brown asks Marty if there's a problem with the Earth's gravitational pull. A real scientist would know that gravity is just a property of mass.

But after watching Back to the Future my New Year's Resolution is to run out into the town and ask in a panicked way, "What year is this?"
