Old News from 02-04-02

A while back I used to write some topical material for radio stations. So, it's way out of date now, but I think it's interesting to have a look back. This is what was in the news back then.

(This was UK news section)

Ministers are reportedly considering proposals to American animals to have pet passports. But they've got hyenas over there, and you're not meant to smile in your passport.

Wild salmon stocks off the north coast of Scotland could be seriously affected after an "unknown quantity" of farmed salmon broke out into the sea over the Easter weekend. Well, it was a bank holiday and that normally means The Great Escape is on.

A report by leaders of the N.A.S.U.W.T. says teachers’ rolls must not be downgraded. They still want the cheese and onion rolls with sesame seeds.

The City of Belfast is paying tribute to Lord Mayor Jim Rodgers, the man who designed the Titanic. Imagine what they would've done if he made a ship that could stay afloat!
